Anton Fabi

Anton Fabi is a brand that just screams style, delivering high-end, smart and semi-smart fashionability at a relatively low price. Wear them to the office or match them with trousers and a stylish shirt for a night out. Fabis offer versatile, impressive, affordable style.

Converse

We can’t do a blog like this and not mention the ever-popular Converse range. They go all the way back to a single line of shoes worn and popularized by basketball star Chuck Taylor in 1923. Converse went on to dominate the market for basketball footwear and then gradually moved into becoming the casualwear of choice for the skating and urban subcultures. There are now several variations and new styles available from the brand. We don’t think any man’s or boy’s wardrobe should be without at least one of them.

This proudly South African brand has been the essential local gents’ shoe for nearly 40 years. The simple design and smart, shiny look and feel of the Dakota leather docksider moccasin have made it the trademark men’s formal and work shoe for South Africans ever since it was launched in 1980. The brand now features many variations, as well as some styles for women and kids too. If it’s the smart look you’re after, you can’t go wrong with Dakotas.

John Drake

Another great local brand, John Drake produces a line of tough, sturdy leather shoes in a variety of styles, which are great for everyday wear. Since 1904, these shoes have been handcrafted right here in South Africa.

Crockett & Jones

A family business based in Northampton, England since 1879, Crockett and Jones has produced fine leather men’s footwear since the height of the industrial revolution. The company makes a high-end range of shoes and boots that any man would be proud to wear. They have supplied footwear to members of the British royal family, exported all over the world and continue to make shoes that last in an era of increasingly disposable fashion.
